Definition
N-Acetylglucosamine 6-phosphate, also known as GLCNAC6P, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as acylaminosugars. These are organic compounds containing a sugar linked to a chain through N-acyl group. N-Acetylglucosamine 6-phosphate exists in all living organisms, ranging from bacteria to humans. N-Acetylglucosamine 6-phosphate has been detected, but not quantified in, several different foods, such as abalones (Haliotis), savoy cabbages (Brassica oleracea var. sabauda), cloves (Syzygium aromaticum), german camomiles (Matricaria recutita), and wakames (Undaria pinnatifida). This could make N-acetylglucosamine 6-phosphate a potential biomarker for the consumption of these foods. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on N-Acetylglucosamine 6-phosphate.
Belongs to the class of organic compounds known as acylaminosugars. These are organic compounds containing a sugar linked to a chain through N-acyl group.
