Pppgpp is soluble (in water) and an extremely strong acidic compound (based on its pKa). Pppgpp can be found in a number of food items such as breadnut tree seed, peach (variety), mammee apple, and fenugreek, which makes pppgpp a potential biomarker for the consumption of these food products.
