In model 1, the structure contains galloyl units (in some cases, shikimic acid units) that are linked to diverse polyol carbohydrate-, catechin-, or triterpenoid units. In model 2, contains at least two galloyl units C-C coupled to each other, and do not contain a glycosidically linked catechin unit. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on 6-[5-({[6-({11,17-dihydroxy-3,4-dimethoxytricyclo[12.3.1.1²,⁶]nonadeca-1(17),2,4,6(19),14(18),15-hexaen-5-yl}oxy)-3,4,5-trihydroxyoxan-2-yl]methoxy}carbonyl)-2,3-dihydroxyphenoxy]-3,4,5-trihydroxyoxane-2-carboxylic acid.
